EXPERIENCE
Struggling Teens- Prevention and Intervention
CBT is very effective in preventing mental health difficulties before they develop into more severe mental health disorders. National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT to treat many mental health disorders. Once symptoms reduce, we then look at helping the young person become their own therapist. This provides invaluable knowledge and skills to aid life long well-being and resilience.
Young people I work with tend to quickly feel comfortable working with me. I work creatively and humorously creating a collaborative therapeutic space for us to work on what issues are bothering them.
Some of the difficulties I have helped teens (and younger) address:
Anxiety Disorders
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Panic Disorders
Eating Disorders
Psychosis Symptoms
Exam Stress
School Refusal
Self-Harm
Low Self-Esteem
Perfectionism
Suicidal Thoughts
LGBT+ Issues
